Khao Laem Ya – Mu Ko Samet National Park
Khao Laem Ya – Mu Ko Samet National Park is located in Rayong, Thailand just down the street from Mae Rumphueng Beach. Comprised of 81,875 rai (131 square kilometres or 50 square miles), the national park is actually split into two portions.
The first half of Khao Laem Ya Mu Ko Samet National Park is on the mainland next to Ban Phe and Mae Rumphueng Beach. The huge hilltop here can be dominates the coastline and can be seen many kilometres away.
The second half of Khao Laem Ya Mu Ko Samet National Park is located on Koh Samet island. Most of the island is officially part of the national park. The foreigner entry fee is 200 baht. However all ticket work on both halves of the national park for an entire week, so make sure to visit both.
Sunrise in particularly beautiful from the mainland half of Khao Laem Ya – Mu Ko Samet National Park. The sun rising up over the water and Koh Samet is beautiful view and a great way to start the day.
Sunset from the national park is also gorgeous. And all day the park offers beautiful views of Koh Samet and the Gulf of Thailand.
