Ao Prao on Koh Samet
Taking the gold is Ao Prao! This small 200 metre stretch of sand is the only beach on the western side of Koh Samet, making it one of the most beautiful — and popular — places for viewing the sunset on all of Koh Samet!
The aptly named, Sunset Point
Also on the western shore of Ko Samet perched atop the cliff is a great viewing area, not just for watching the sunset but also for getting a glimpse of the mainland and the other half of Khao Laem Ya — Mu Ko Samet National Park.
White Rocks & Mae Rumphueng
On the mainland, Mae Rumphueng Beach is a great place to watch the sunset over the Gulf of Thailand, one of my personal favorite spots. White Rocks Courtyard is also great for sunset viewing, plus if you climb up on the large rocks you can get some stunning photos 😉
Where to watch the sunset in Rayong
Khao Laem Ya – Mu Ko Samet National Park is located in Rayong, Thailand just down the street from Mae Rumphueng Beach. Comprised of 81,875 rai (131 square kilometres or 50 square miles), the national park is actually split into two portions.
The first half of Khao Laem Ya Mu Ko Samet National Park is on the mainland next to Ban Phe and Mae Rumphueng Beach. The huge hilltop here can be dominates the coastline and can be seen many kilometres away.
